Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies

I’ve seen this recipe floating around the internet for quite some time now – but finally had a chance to make them last week. The secret is cream cheese in the dough – you don’t taste it distinctly but it makes the cookies thick and fluffy. Yum.

I sent some over to my neighbors house and I received a message back saying they were the best cookies he had ever had.

Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Cookies

2 ½ c. all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 c. butter, softened
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 ½ c. brown sugar
¾ c. granulated sugar
1 egg
½ tsp vanilla
2 c. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment and set aside. Whisk together flour, baking soda and salt and set aside. Beat butter, cream cheese and sugars until well combined, and egg and vanilla and mix well. Add flour mixture and stir just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto parchment lined sheets. Bake until brown around edges and centers are just set. Remove from oven, transfer to wire rack and cool completely.

  1. I haven’t seen this recipe yet, but it seems rather inventive. Whenever I dare to bake again in this heat, I might try out this one. They do look tasty!

  2. Cream cheese is interesting! I’m going to have to try that!

  3. I haven’t seen this recipe either, but it sounds great!

  4. I found these during the winter and of course I had to give them a try. They were very tasty. But, in my opinion, it’s hard to go wrong with chocolate!
