TWD No Muffins, Pie Instead

13 Jan

Sorry, TWD fans, I wasn’t feeling the cornbread love this week. So instead, I made this:

12-24-041

It’s Dorie’s Soft Chocolate Raspberry Tart – minus the raspberries. They (the raspberries) were hideously expensive and I refused to pay the ransom. So they stayed at the store, and we had the tart straight up.

And if you get the chance, I highly recommend you make it.

Here’s another view, just because I know you want to see more of it:

Apologies to Rebecca for skipping the cornbread – but I’ll have the Berry Surprise Cake next week.

I was also not into the corn muffins, but I made them anyway. Your tart looks great, I have also made this before and it was very tasty. I did make mine with the berries but I think this would also be good with a fruit sauce from some frozen fruit. :)

Um, hello, I’ll that those instead of the corn muffins!
About my chicken black bean taco bake–I totally made it up as I went along. Others are asking, too. So I’ll try to come up with a recipe.
Really, it’s just shredding chicken breast, some black beans, a can of crushed tomatoes, spices, some red and green peppers, then layered with cheese and tortillas like a lasagna. I’m having some for lunch right now and it’s still good!

Well, this certainly was a great idea to bake. The muffins were good and all…but c’mon, there’s nothing like chocolate in my opinion. :o )

The tart looks good, and just a bit different from the muffins! I’d make it without the raspberries, but I’m not a huge fan of fruit + chocolate.

Now that’s what I’m talking about! That looks amazing!!! I’d have that over the muffins any day!

Oh wow, you’ve teased us with chocolate! That looks amazing! I hate raspberries with chocolate, so I’m very glad to see that it turned out great without it. I so wish I could sample some! Well done!!! Looks like you didn’t miss the muffins at all!
